Workshop Terms

Last updated: 29 October 2026

These terms apply to installation, fitting, painting and other work done on your vehicle by Zero Offset Pty Ltd (ABN 28 642 274 897), trading as Zero Offset ("we", "us", "our"), at 484 Clayton Road, Clayton South VIC 3169. You accept them when you approve a quote or book a job. Parts you buy from us are also covered by our Terms of Service, Refund Policy and Shipping Policy.

All work comes with a 1-year warranty on our workmanship (section 8). Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (section 9).

1. Quotes

  • We give you a written quote before we start. It lists the work, the parts and the price, including GST.
  • Quotes are valid for 30 days. Part prices can change after that, especially for imported parts.
  • A quote is based on your vehicle as we inspect it. If we find something we could not see at the time of the quote, such as hidden damage, rust or previous repairs, we will contact you before doing any extra work (section 5).

2. Bookings and parts

  • No deposit is needed to book a job.
  • We only install parts bought from Zero Offset, and only book jobs once those parts have arrived or are available to fit. We do not fit parts supplied by customers or bought elsewhere.
  • We recommend buying your parts online before your installation date. We cannot hold stock for unpaid bookings. If a part sells out before your installation date and you have not bought it, we will help you find an alternative or a new date, but no compensation is payable.
  • If we need to change your booking, we will tell you as early as we can and offer a new date.

3. Your vehicle in our care

  • When you drop off your vehicle, we check and photograph its condition with you, including existing chips, scratches, dents and warning lights. Please remove valuables and tell us about any known faults.
  • Our workshop is secured and monitored by CCTV. We are responsible for loss or damage to your vehicle caused by us while it is in our care.
  • We may drive your vehicle for short distances where needed for the job, such as test drives, wheel alignment or moving it around the workshop.

4. Paint and colour

  • Before painting, we confirm the colour with you in writing, using your vehicle's paint code or a colour you choose. Where practical, we show you a spray-out sample to approve before the work starts.
  • Paint is mixed to match your car's colour code, but aged or previously painted panels can look slightly different. We blend into neighbouring panels where needed, and will tell you before we start if a close match is not possible.
  • If you change the colour or finish after you have approved it, the extra paint and labour are charged.
  • New paint needs time to cure. We will give you care instructions on collection, such as when you can wash, polish or ceramic coat the vehicle.

5. Timeframes and extra work

  • We give you an estimated completion date. It can change if we find hidden issues or if you change the job.
  • We will not do extra work beyond the quote without your approval. We will contact you with the reason and the cost, and only proceed once you agree. Extra labour is charged at our standard rate of $125 per hour, including GST.

6. Payment and collection

  • The balance is due when the job is finished, before you collect the vehicle. We accept cash or card. Afterpay and Zip are not available for workshop jobs, and we do not offer payment terms.
  • We will contact you when your vehicle is ready. Please inspect the work with us at collection and point out anything you are not happy with, so we can look at it straight away.
  • Please collect your vehicle within 7 days of us telling you it is ready. After that, storage is charged at $50 per day for vehicles and $15 per day for exhaust systems left with us, unless we have agreed otherwise.
  • If you cannot pay the balance when the job is finished, we will hold your vehicle until it is paid. Storage fees apply from 7 days after we tell you it is ready.

7. Road rules and legality

Some modifications, such as certain exhausts, lowered suspension, wheels, lighting or aero, may need engineering approval or may not be legal for road use in every state or territory. We will tell you if we know a modification affects road legality. You are responsible for any registration, roadworthy, engineering and insurance requirements, including telling your insurer about modifications.

8. 1-year workmanship warranty

All work we carry out is covered by a 1-year warranty on our workmanship, starting from the date you collect your vehicle.

What is covered: faults caused by how we did the work. For example, a part that comes loose or was fitted incorrectly, or paint that peels, bubbles, cracks or fades because of how it was prepared or applied. If a covered fault appears, we will repair it at no cost to you. If we cannot repair it, we will redo the work or refund what you paid for that part of the job.

What is not covered:

  • damage from accidents, impacts, stone chips, kerbs, road debris, weather events or vandalism;
  • normal wear and tear;
  • misuse, track or competition use beyond what the part is designed for, or failing to follow the care instructions we give you;
  • work later changed, repaired or removed by someone else;
  • defects in the parts themselves, which are covered by the part's own manufacturer warranty (we will help you make the claim);
  • colour differences you approved before painting (section 4).

How to claim: contact us within the warranty period at support@zerooffset.com.au or (03) 9077 6984 with your job or invoice number, a description of the problem and photos. We may ask you to bring the vehicle in for inspection. Please do not have the work repaired elsewhere before contacting us, as we need to inspect it first.

Costs: you pay the cost of bringing your vehicle to our workshop for inspection. If the fault is covered, the repair, parts and labour are free.

The benefits given by this warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies you have under the law.

9. Your consumer rights

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled:

  • to cancel your service contract with us; and
  • to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value.

You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.
