ADRO V2 GR86 Build: Full Kit, Fitment Guide and Parts List

We recently completed a full ADRO V2 build on a customer's Toyota GR86. This post covers every component that went on the car, how it was fitted, and what anyone planning the same build should know before starting.

What Is the ADRO GR86 V2 Kit?

The ADRO V2 is a full aero package for the 2022+ Toyota GR86 and Subaru BRZ. It replaces the factory front bumper with a V2-specific redesign and adds carbon fibre side skirts, and a rear diffuser. Compared to the original ADRO, the V2 has a sharper front-end treatment and updated body proportions across the car.

What sets the ADRO V2 apart from most kits is that it was engineered around aerodynamic function. Stock, the GR86 generates lift at speed, meaning the faster you go, the less mechanical grip the car has. The full ADRO V2 kit combined with the AT-M3 Motorsport Wing reverses that completely, producing over 360 lbs (1,627N) of downforce.

Aerodynamics on a car like this only works when it is balanced front to rear. Running an aggressive bumper and front lip without a matching rear diffuser and wing creates front-biased downforce, which loads the nose but leaves the rear light. On the GR86 this will cause oversteer under load. Every component in the ADRO V2 kit is tuned to build downforce progressively across the car, which is why we always recommend the complete kit over individual pieces.

ADRO V2 Components on This Build

Here is exactly what went on the car from the ADRO GR86 range at Zero Offset:

ADRO GR86 Front Bumper The V2 front bumper is a complete replacement for the factory unit. It is lower and more open than stock, with reshaped vents and a revised lower section. One important note: the factory side indicator repeaters that sit in the stock bumper are deleted by this fitment. Indicator relocation is a roadworthy requirement and is covered below under the Valenti mirrors section.

ADRO GR86 Carbon Fibre Front Lip Carbon fibre lip that mounts directly to the V2 bumper. Directs airflow under the car and contributes to front downforce.

ADRO GR86 Carbon Fibre Side Skirts Carbon fibre skirts that connect the front and rear of the body kit. Keeps airflow channelled correctly between the front lip and rear diffuser.

ADRO GR86 Carbon Fibre Rear Diffuser Extracts air from under the car and contributes to rear downforce. Works in conjunction with the AT-M3 wing to balance the front aero load.

ADRO GR86 AT-M3 Motorsport Wing The swan-neck mount keeps the underside of the blade completely unobstructed, which is critical for the wing to perform as intended. Without the AT-M3, the front-biased aero from the bumper and lip creates an imbalanced setup.

Wheels, Suspension and Fitment Notes

Getting the car to sit correctly involves more than a set of coilovers. Here is what went on and what the process actually involved.

Volk CE28N-Plus on 235/45/18, HKS Hipermax S coilovers, and HardRace arms before installation.

Volk Racing CE28N-Plus — 18x9 +40, 5x100 This fitment was developed with Rays as a Zero Offset-exclusive spec for the GR86 and BRZ. At 18x9 +40, the wheel clears full lock on stock suspension without rubbing and fits without any guard modification. It also allows a 235/45/18 tyre, which is a more common and affordable size than the narrower options the factory offset restricts you to.

For a street build at moderate ride height, this spec fits without cutting. This particular build is show car spec, so aggressive lowering meant guard work was still required to achieve the final fitment.

HKS Hipermax S Coilovers This car is lowered well beyond a street setup. At show car ride height, the rear fender tabs were shaved to prevent tyre contact in the guard. This is standard when lowering the GR86 this far and should be factored into the build before the car goes near an alignment rack.

HardRace Lower Control Arms and Toe Arms At street ride height, the 18x9 +40 spec does not require aftermarket geometry arms. Once the car is lowered, camber and toe shift and need correcting to keep the car handling predictably and tyres wearing evenly. The HardRace arms bring geometry back into spec. A four-wheel alignment is required after any change in ride height.

HKS Spec-L Cat Back Exhaust A well-regarded option in the GR86 community. Good tone without being antisocial on a daily driver.

Valenti Sequential Side Mirrors On this build, these were a roadworthy requirement, not a styling choice. The ADRO V2 front bumper deletes the factory indicator repeaters built into the stock bar. Without indicators, the car does not pass a roadworthy inspection. The Valenti mirrors move the indicators into the mirror caps with a sequential flash, keeping the car legal without compromising the clean front-end look of the V2 bumper.

On the Road

The car isn't just a show build. Once the kit was on and the geometry sorted, it went straight out on the road. These were shot around Victoria shortly after the build wrapped.
